Trendy Teens

Over the weekend I found myself perusing a couple of teen magazines online.  You know the type -- secrets of back to school style, perfect prom updos, and everything you need to know about nail polish.

I came across an article for a trend I've actually started to notice more and more where I live:  Rainbow Hair!

As the article in Teen Vogue said, "This fall's brightly-colored clothes aren't the only vibrant hues ruling the runway. Models in this seasons' hottest shows stepped out with lovely locks streaked in every color of the rainbow. Designers like Prabal Gurung and Tracy Reese gave their models enviable dimension by adding hot pink, rich purple, and neon green-dyed stripes to their strands."

From the images on Teen Vogue's site, it seems that the color choices range everywhere from in-your-face

to the more subtle.

I'll admit -- even my own sister has become a part of this trend.  Have any of you hopped on board?  I wonder what I'd look like with pink streaks...  ;)

I haven't personally, but I have been tempted. How awesome does the first girl look? But I'd be much more likely to do the latter.

I'm not a teen anymore, but when I WAS a teen I dyed all of my hair purple. I loved it. Until I had to spend a week with my grandmother, who was really angry about the hair for some reason, and I tried to wash it all out. I just wound up with a head of light grey hair, and lots of people asking if I was prematurely grey.

I've seen a lot of YA authors with pink or blue hair, if I wasn't a teacher, I'd do it.

A bunch of my students do the dyed hair thing, but the ones who can't really commit to it just clip on the fake hair. it looks cute.

I've always been kinda tempted to put a little blue streak in my hair or pink, but I've never got the courage to do it. :)

I wanted pink streaks in my hair when I was in high school, but I was never willing to bleach my hair. The girl at the product store traumatized me when she said her hair melted from bleaching. So...no.

JEM - Melted hair? Oh no! I figure I already bleach highlights into my hair, why not add a bit of pink to the mix? lol I'm pretty bold when it comes to my hair though.

I haven't considered it. I'm a redhead, so I can't help but think color would look kind of silly in my hair. But I HAVE thought about those feather extensions that are all the rage...
